Just back from our short break at Bogle Barn, and we both loved it! From the moment we walked through the door and both said 'wow' it was instantly clear that this is a very special place to stay, filled with thoughtful and individual touches. The underfloor heating is very effective, so much so that we didn't need to light the log burner - though in winter it would complement the already cosy atmosphere - and the high quality natural wood fittings which link the dining and lounge areas combine with the wooden beams to make this a relaxing and welcoming place. Comfortable bedrooms, en suite washrooms and a well equipped kitchen complete the Barn's appeal. As a base for a holiday by car the location is ideal - to the south, the sweeping views of Morecambe Bay, lovely Cartmel village and the market town of Ulverston are all a short drive away - while to the north, the drive through Grizedale Forest to Hawkshead at the heart of Beatrix Potter country is a scenic joy. Even though the weather for much of our stay was wet (if we didn't have rain, we wouldn't have Lakes!) we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to the lovely Bogle Barn!
